The Trades & Business Issue

I'm Jack, an apprentice electrician and business student in San Luis Obispo. I build websites that get local trade businesses more calls, and I document the whole climb online.

From the lifeguard towerto the job site.

A head lifeguard turned electrician apprentice on why he started building websites for the people he works next to.

Before I ever pulled wire, I ran a beach as head lifeguard. That job teaches you a few things fast: stay calm, take responsibility, and nobody cares about excuses when something needs to get done.

Now I'm an electrician apprentice in San Luis Obispo, and I'm studying business administration at Cuesta College on my way to transferring to a four-year school. Days on the job site, nights on the books.

Nobody cares about excuses when something needs to get done.

Working in the trades, I kept noticing the same thing. The best contractors I know do incredible work, and you'd never know it from their website, if they even have one. Customers check you out online before they ever pick up the phone.

So I started building sites for local trade businesses: clean, fast, and built to make the phone ring. I'm also sharing everything I learn along the way, about the trades, money, and building a business from zero, so other people can do the same.

Websites for peoplewho work with their hands.

No agencies, no jargon, no $5,000 invoices. A local guy who understands the trades and builds you a site that works on the phone your customers are holding.
